Yes! Numerous clinical studies show that telehealth is just as effective as in-person therapy for a wide variety of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, depression, and stress. Clients deeply appreciate telehealth because it completely eliminates commutes, fits easily into busy workdays, and allows them to open up in the comfort and privacy of their own familiar environment.
No. Pavlo Therapy specializes exclusively in individual outpatient psychotherapy for adults and older adolescents (ages 16+). We believe that couples and family therapy require distinct, in-person dynamics to be truly effective and safe, which does not translate well to a virtual telehealth format. If you are seeking couples or family counseling, we are happy to provide trusted referrals for local in-person providers.
We maintain a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. Because your session time is reserved exclusively for you, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice (or missed sessions) are subject to a flat, non-refundable fee of $100.00, which will be automatically processed on your stored card on file on the day of the missed session.
We are a growing practice. Right now, every clinical intake and individual therapy session is personally conducted by Alexander Pavlo, LCSW, our founder and lead therapist. This means direct access to his full clinical experience and attention, not a referral to someone else down the line. As our practice grows, any additional clinicians will be carefully selected and directly supervised by Alexander to maintain the same standard of care.
DBT-Informed therapy integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills—like mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness—into traditional individual therapy sessions. Full-fidelity DBT requires attending a weekly group skills class and having access to 24/7 crisis coaching. Because we do not offer these group or around-the-clock coaching components, our services are "DBT-informed." This is highly effective for individuals who want to learn concrete coping skills to manage intense emotions and stress in a supportive, one-on-one setting, but who do not require an intensive, multi-component DBT program.
We offer three different individual therapy lengths to meet your unique clinical goals and scheduling preferences:
The Brief Session (approx. 30 Minutes - CPT 90832 - $90): Designed for quick check-ins, targeted coping skill reviews, or maintaining progress after core goals are met.
The Focused Session (approx. 45 Minutes - CPT 90834 - $120): Excellent for clients focusing on practical skill-building, reviewing therapeutic homework, tracking progress on specific tools, or fitting therapy into a lunch break.
The Deep Dive Session (approx. 60 Minutes - CPT 90837 - $140): Recommended for processing trauma (such as Prolonged Exposure), exploring complex dynamics, or deep emotional processing without feeling rushed.
Pavlo Therapy currently offers self-pay sessions while credentialing with insurance carriers is in progress. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you'll receive a monthly Superbill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are also available. See Fees & Insurance for details.
The duration of therapy depends entirely on your personal goals, the nature of your challenges, and the type of treatment we choose. Highly structured evidence-based practices like Prolonged Exposure (PE) are typically short-term (often 10–15 sessions), while supportive talk therapy or deeper insight-oriented work can continue as a weekly or bi-weekly resource for as long as you find it beneficial.
